Family-based Visa for Adopted Child

Attorney Mooradian’s client, a young child from Africa, was adopted by a family member several years ago. The adoption took place because parents in the country of origin were unable to continue to care for the child.

Mooradian’s client was issued a request for evidence, to which Mooradian responded with both foreign and domestic records demonstrating that all regulations had been followed. Now that the family-based visa has been approved, the child can adjust her status to that of a lawful permanent resident and enjoy the many benefits of being a green card holder, including benefits in her future should she decide to attend a state or public university.
