Attorney Mooradian's client, who had come to the United States decades ago from South America, recently received the approval of his I-290B. As a result, he is now able to pursue and receive his U visa which had been denied approximately a year ago.
The U visa had previously been denied due to a lack of clarity on the U visa certification issued by the Worcester Police Department. Mooradian was able to work together with various stakeholders to clarify inconsistencies and to file a motion to reopen/reconsider with USCIS. Given the memorandum of law, as well as the new evidence, that Mooradian was able to submit, the agency determined that the client was indeed helpful to law enforcement, reversing its previous finding.
Once the client submits straightforward evidence that can be submitted administratively, the U visa is expected to be issued. This protective visa will serve as his path to U.S. Citizenship.
